Where to promote?

To make sure our music video gets the best results and fans, we will promote our video on different channels such as:

Health and Safety

Before we start capturing our music video we need to have a full understanding of the rule's on what we can and cannot do during our video such as:


1) No filming in inappropriate locations.


2) Check safety of locations e.g. roads.


3) Minimise risk of theft or theft of equipment.


4) When filming on location, ensure teacher or responsible adult know where you are and have a telephone number and when you return.


5) Check all equipment is working before you leave.


6) Ensure you have permission for filming if necessary


7) Always film with at least one other person.


8) Ensure you have permission of those you are filming.

first part of film gone wrong!

for the first part of our film we are having all the stars heads moving, we have filmed everyone once but as they moved we done it to quick. we filmed it behind a door as we wanted white behind everyone but as we uploaded it on the IMac we could see the door frame. so yes its all gone wrong!. so on Monday 6Th December we filmed everyone doing the head movement but this time we made them hold it for longer! and instead of filming in front of the door we done it on the white board!. we should off really fort about it before filming there. this way we wouldn't of wasted our time!.

filming is slipping a bit, we are behind with our filming due to the weather!
snow on the floor is no good. we have had to change some of our locations as the snow has destroyed our ideas!.

Thursday 2ND December

today we was meant to be going London but as it was snowing we decided to film this part at the civic centre. as we got there it was freezing!. the snow on the ground was fresh so we fort it would be a good idea to do it on the front part where the grass is with the civic in the back ground. we started to film at the same time, the snow started to come down heavier, as our hands froze whilst holding the camera, so about half hour in we decided the cold got the better of us and went back to James. whilst we was there we decided it would be a good idea just to film this part in James house, or in his garden, so yet that is what we plan to do!

Tuesday 30 November:
today we was meant to film myself and Alex however as it snowed we couldn't film as in my part we need to be able to ride the horse and we cant bring my horses out in this weather so filming my part has been put of until next Tuesday!
lets hope the weather gets better!!!!

on wednesday the 19th November we filmed ryan and alex, this went really well as we knew how we was going to set them out as we tried it with kirsty, so we knew what we was aiming for. we then filmed Bobbi and James,once again we shot this with good time! and it went well. last of all we had to film myself and Rhea. now we have all our filming done for our first section it is now time to start editing and putting it altogether! this will allow us to see whos going to be in the video by using the individuals being in different boxes looking at each other.

To make our film that it can be we are using the final cut program this is to ensure that our editing is done with high quaulity this allows us to edit our complex filming.! Final Cut Express is a non-linear video editing application created by Apple Inc. It is the consumer version of Final Cut Pro and is designed for advanced editing of digital video as well as high-definition video, which is used by many amateur and professional videographers

wednesday 17th November!

our group got together to plan our scenes to do this we made a story board, which will help us plan our music video, this will make it easy to follow, as it tells us what camera shots we are going to us,music, editing, lighting .
once we done our storyboard we made out animatic.
Our animatic is created from each picture off our storyboard, once we drew the pictures we took a picture of each shot then placed it all together so it comes to one to make a story!

me Bobbi and Shantelle got together and planned our first part of the video as we need couples we needed to sort out who we are going to be using so before we even start filming we are going to have to ask about who wants to be in our video. we have asked a few people so far and these include Kirsty, Rhea, Ryan. Test Runs!!!

on Wednesday Shantelle and Bobbi filmed a few shots of Kirsty looking in different directions, as we are planing to use this on the start of our music video but using 3 groups of 4.
then on Thursday myself and Shantelle started to edit the clips to see if our ideas would work, whilst sorting it all out we found out that we needed to make our footage longer with each clip as it will do more justice with the video!
editing this clip was the first time we used final cut so we had to start getting use to it at first it started out hard and got in a muddle but soon to find out it is quite easy!!!

the xx: islands

An absolutely gorgeous video So many intricacies and details that just add... something else, something indescribable.

My take on the video is everyone is living in conformity, creating a synchronized beautiful dance. Slowly everyone starts to think for themselves, realizing they don't love the person they're with, they don't have to play by the rules and eventually just drop out. The place sets on fire, creating chaos. WIthout conformity, there is chaos.

whilst we was on half term, Me, Shantelle and Bobbi decided it would be a good idea if we got together to start thinking about what we are going to do with our music video. we come up with some good ideas however we are not sure if they will work and do our music vidao justist, as we want to gain high grades.

the xx- island

we have decided to do the song Island by The XX.
we found the XX on facebook and then searched there music on youtube, all of there music is good but as we had to make a music video for it we had to decide would be easier to lips so thats when we decided to do the song island!
Here is the email we sent the XX to ask if we was allowed to use there song.

for the lipsing sync we didn't use our own music which we will be using for our music video, as we didn't know which music we was going to use so we used a last years music, as we knew we could use it and didn't have to ask, however for our own music video we had to ask around. we have emailed a numerous amount of people as we couldn't decide which music we liked best. we found alot of our music by going on the website unsigned.com this is very helpful as it has alot of verity on there to choice from.

unsigned is a website made up of singers who are unsigned it allows students like us to go on and use there music for out music videos. it also gives people the chance to get to know these people.

Analysis of the lip sync video

The lip sync video to ' I wont forget you' over all was a success. We were able to make informed decision's about what roll we should take to ensure that we did the video within the two lessons. The shots that we decided to do were to ensure that there were many different angles of Meghan' face. the close up shots were used to show the quality of the lip singing. While editing we edited out Meghan's voice singing over the song. We made sure that Meghan did this to make sure that her singing was in time with the song playing out loud we used Final Cut Express to edit our video. which was easy once you know how to use it.

lip sync, how we made it

when making our music video our group contains, myself Shantelle Lake and Bobbi Freeman but for this lipsing sync none of us in the group wanted to lips with the music so we used Meghan, as we didn't have our song yet we decided to use a song from the last years which was 'I wont forget you'. we chose this song has we didn't have a long time to remember the lyrics and this song was a easier option.

so to make this we had a double lesson, in which the first half of the lesson we gave Meghan the chance to learn the lines whilst we set up the camera and tape, we also had to have the music playing out loud for Meghan to lips to, we had difficult with my phone to blue tooth it over so we decided it was easier to stay in the room and let it play out loud. once we was already Bobbi filmed the shots of Meghan, whilst myself, Bobbi and Joao gave suggestions of what shot would look good and work well, at the end we decided to have a mid shot, close up and a low key shot. we thought we would have different shots to link in and make the video better. Once we had all the shots on tape we then needed to edit the shots, this is how we got to change the shots and link it in all together, we edited our shots on final cut express, on this it gives us many things to do with our video, for our video we just cut, and add a dissolve which gives a better effect to the video. for all this it took us two double lessons.

this video was the first black music video shown on mtv
its about young people talking about drugs but they wasn't allowed to say the right word so they used dutchie instead because it rhymed with it,
the children are always smiling and happy,

It is worth nothing how there has been a massive swith in the importance of youtube from television channels such as MTV.

Sinead O'Connor

Another well known video is Sinead O'Connor- Nothing compares to you. The clip consists almost solely of a closeup on O'Connor's face as she sings the lyrics; the rest consists of her walking through an unknown area of Paris. Towards the end of the video, two tears roll down her face, one per cheek. O'Connor stated on VH1's 100 Greatest Songs of the 90s that it was caused by the lyric "All the flowers that you planted, Mama/in the back yard/All died when you went away," because she had a very complex relationship with her late mother, whom she has claimed abused her when she was a child. This video become famous due to the real life scene, it shows her emotions, it is very truthful whilst telling her story of her relationship with her mother.

lady GaGa : Telephone

Lady GaGa ft beyonce- telephone is one of the most famous videos that has been brought out in 2010. it has had 85,387,420 viewers. within the video she has a lot of things going on as well as promoting things such as her lipstick products. she also includes clips of lesbien action. in this video it links to advertising for virgin mobile this is known as product placement, she is also advertising fags as she has glasses made out of fags.
in this video she also has reference from the film 'Kill Bill'

in this part of the video it shows the main subject, which is cars and ladies dressed in little outfits fixing the cars, yet again this is another miss leading picture, because in a garage its usually men working, it fits in with the music lyriacs as it says shut up and drive and she is fixing the cars.

rihanna

this is the start of the video, this is misleading as she pulls up in a Ferrari, but when you see a Ferrari you just presume its going to be a man driving it but then the door opens and its a pair of leopard heels steeping out the car.

Shut up and drive” was a song that was written by Carl Sturken and Evan Rogers for the R&B singer Rihanna. The song was very successful as it reached number 1 on the Billboard dance charts, and it also received platinum. The song was released as a second single from her album in June 2007.

The music video was directed by Anthony Mandler and choreographed by Tina Landon. The video was set in a garage where a host of European cars were featured. The video opens with Rihanna driving a Ferrari F430 into a garage and other cars such as 1969 Ford Mustang and Skoda Rapid were included in the video.
